Mr. Dennis Lee is the Chief Systems Manager of Clinical Systems Architecture and Development under the Information Technology and Health Informatics Division at Hong Kong Hospital Authority (HA). He leads the next generation of Clinical Management Systems, enabling HA’s digital healthcare transformation to enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. 

 

Recognizing the profound potential of artificial intelligence in transforming healthcare, Mr Lee oversees operations for HA's AI Lab, steering the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions to improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies. In addition, he drives HA’s Data Collaboration Lab, fostering clinical research and Clinical AI Innovation for the ecosystems.

 

How AI is Shaping the Next Generation of Care?

Aligned with the Hong Kong Hospital Authority (HA) Strategic Plan 2022-2027, the HA AI Strategy is driving smarter, data-driven healthcare with refined directives, HA has accelerated the development and deployment of responsible AI solutions to enable smart, data-driven care. Successful implementations—such as Chest X-ray analysis, Hip X-ray interpretation, and medical report drafting—have improved efficiency, clinical quality, and patient safety, supported by robust governance and innovation principles.

 

As AI technology advances rapidly, this presentation will highlight HA’s future priorities, including integrating AI into the Clinical Management System as a clinical co-pilot, enhancing administrative platforms, and aligning AI initiatives with service needs. Strategic focus will also include enforcing governance through AI policies and guidelines, providing AI education, engaging stakeholders, and fostering co-development with ecosystem partners to ensure sustainable healthcare transformation.
